Recently I decided to tackle a pantry organization makeover on a budget. It took about two hours and $20.00.
We have three shelves and use them for snacks, canned goods and some appliance storage. It was a pretty simple process from start to finish.
* Take everything out
* Toss expired canned goods and stale chips
* Sort like items
* Let 4 year old join in on fun by building K-cup towers (optional)
After I tossed out all that needed to go and sorted what was left, I made a quick trip to the Dollar General. I love those stores! They usually have things we need in a bind and no one cares if you’re there in sweats or even pajamas, good times! They also have some frugal finds for organizing and decorating.
I left with:
-two wire baskets ($9)
-two tier shelves for canned goods ($6)
-one roll of shelf liner ($3)
-two packs of chip clips ($2)
I took out one shelf to measure the drawer liner and cut it to fit. I cut two more pieces the same size and used the leftover to make some labels. Nothing printed out or fancy, just simple cut out circles and a sharpie. I’m slightly obsessed with OXO containers so I already had those.
I put everything back on the shelves and was pleased with the results for a project that took a short amount of time and did not blow our budget. I love to be able to find things quick and easy!
Hope this gives you some ideas if you have been considering a pantry organization makeover on a budget!
