Welcome! I’m so glad you have come across Simple Organized Lifestyle! This is a place where we can do real life together and simplify when it comes to our home and finances so we can focus on the people and things that matter the most.
This site exists to help you take action and make simple changes to make life easier. It’s not about creating a perfect home and gourmet meals. There are plenty of those sites and while I greatly admire their handiwork and envy their cooking skills, the advice and products found here are designed for busy families who just want to put systems in place to keep their sanity in the fast paced world we live in! The simple organized lifestyle is about investing in ourselves and getting instant returns! It’s about setting and achieving new goals to make our lives easier and more meaningful.
The only way I can reach out to you beyond the blog is by email. If you have come across SimpOL, you have an interest in systems to help keep up with kids, home, finances and achieving new goals. My emails serve the purpose of giving you action steps and resources to simplify life. I’m confident I can help you and, if you decide the information is not worth your time, you can simpOly unsubscribe at any time, no hard feelings!
A little more about me.
I love failure. I turn failure into motivation into action.
So, after years of looking for keys, shoes, papers (insert pretty much anything else here) I decided to become more organized. I went from point A to point Y (Z=remotes, I’m convinced they move around on purpose to drive me crazy.) Our home is far from perfection but it is functional and organized enough where it counts to save our time and sanity.
I have also invested lots of time the past several years to learn about personal finance. Debt is a four letter word and I was deep in it. Complaining about debt or hoping it would just go away was not working out for me and Mr. SimpOL. That journey of learning has been nothing short of amazing. We achieved some major financial goals and are taking steps to put us on the right path to financial freedom. I’ll share many of those steps here in hopes of helping others avoid or get out of the debt trap.
I also talk about kids here and I’ll be the first to tell you something you already know. Everyone likes to give you advice about kids and they don’t know your kid! I have nothing for the picky eater, the one that climbs into your bed, and the one who rarely slows down… namely, my own! However, when it comes to how they learn, that’s where I have many years of training and expertise and what I will share here.
